We all want to be healthy, but most of us don’t have the time to spend an hour at the gym five days a week – or even one day a week, for that matter! As I always tell my patients, the important thing is that you do as much for your health as possible; you don’t have to be perfect. Being intentional about your health can take you a long way! Here are three of my favorite health tips:
- Don’t ignore symptoms. Pelvic pain? Bleeding that always seems to last longer than it should? These symptoms could be indicative of a serious health issue. Bringing them up with your gynecologist sooner rather than later could lead to better results.
- Track your period. This is another health tip that takes a little habituation, but once you get into a routine, it’s easy. When you track your menstrual cycle, it’s easy to see what your “normal” actually is. Also, you might be able to explain an extra long cycle due to traveling or stress at the end of your month. This information can help your gynecologist, too!
- Prepare for your doctor’s appointment. Whether you see a gynecologist in Mesa or a family medicine physician, take a few minutes to think about your current health before going into your appointment. I love when I have patients who bring up specific concerns. Your appointment is your opportunity to ask questions.
